Enjoy food, wine at Geneva's Festival of the Vine
For 30-plus years, Geneva's Festival of the Vine has highlighted and celebrated the flavors of fall and the bountiful harvest.
The tradition continues this weekend. Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7-9.
Voted one of the best festivals by 2012 Kane County Chronicle's Best of the Fox Reader's Choice Awards, this festival is set in downtown Geneva and is hosted by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce with support from the city.
Our Flavor Fare, full of international and seasonal cuisine prepared by Geneva restaurateurs paired with a diverse selection of wines, will be the centerpiece of this year's celebration. Festival goers can sample excellent food and wine, while enjoying live local and Chicago area entertainment at our giant outdoor tent at State and Fourth streets. Take in new restaurants, new menus, and a whole new culinary experience in 2012.
Food and decorating demonstrations will take place at Fourth and James streets on the side of Geneva's old courthouse.
Stroll down James and Third streets to discover business booths, a flower market, arts and crafts show, carriage and trolley rides.
Other special events are slated throughout the entire downtown during Festival of the Vine; the full schedule can be viewed or downloaded at genevachamber.com/festivalofthevine.
The Festival of the Vine is supported by various community members. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce thanks all of its volunteers, businesses, sponsors, donors and the city of Geneva for making this harvest festival possible. For details, call (630) 232-6060.
