Jury can see autopsy pictures of Vaughn children

A forensic pathologist testified the children of an Oswego man accused of killing his family were shot with a gun fired between 1-1/2 and two feet away.

Much of the testimony Wednesday afternoon by Larry Blum in the trial Christopher Vaughn was technical in nature. He took the stand after Judge Daniel Rozak ruled the jury would be able to see photos taken during autopsies on Vaughn’s slain children.

Other testimony was provided Vaughn family friends. Lynda Vena, who owns a salon frequented by Kimberly Vaughn, said she always spoke highly of her family.

Prosecutors say Vaughn killed his wife and three children in June 2007 so he could move to Canada.

Vaughn’s attorneys say his wife committed the crimes because she was distraught over marriage troubles.
