Second Lake County property tax payment due
The second installment of Lake County property taxes is due Thursday, Sept. 6. A second bill will not be mailed to homeowners. Any payment received after the due date must include a 1.5 percent monthly penalty. Payments can be made in person until 7 p.m. at the Lake County Treasurer’s Office, 18 N. County St., Waukegan, at most Lake County banks, online by e-check or by credit card (for an additional fee). Also, tax assessment help centers will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the University Center of Lake County, 1200 University Center Drive, Grayslake, and at the College of Lake County Southlake Campus, 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. Residents can work one-on-one with assessment office staff regarding their property tax assessment.
