Boomers end season with win

WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Schaumburg Boomers capped the first season in franchise history by rallying from a 4-0 deficit to post a 6-4 victory over the Washington Wild Things. The Boomers finish with 54 wins.

Shain Stoner connected on a 3-run homer in the first to help Washington to a 4-0 lead against starter Robby Donovan. Donovan, who opened the season with a victory May 18, threw 5 innings to win the finale, his 11th win of the season.

The rally began in the second with 3 runs. Nate Baumann posted the third of 3 straight hits, a double to right.

Ty Nelson drove home a run with a groundout, and Drew Heithoff singled home a run with two outs.

Karexon Sanchez completed the comeback in the third with a 2-run homer.

Patrick Mincey, the fifth pitcher of the game, saved his 17th of the year with a perfect ninth, capping the season with a strikeout.
