By Special to the Daily Herald

Trailing 3-0 early, the Kane County Cougars never had the lead until a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th carried them to a 5-4 edging of the Peoria Chiefs on Sunday night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

With the score tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th, Danny Mateo sparked the Cougars (68-71, 34-35) by singling before advancing to second on a Dean Espy single.

After Austin Reed (5-8) struck out Julio Aparicio looking, Alex Llanos cracked a single down the right-field line to score Mateo with the game-winner.

Andrew Triggs worked 3 innings out of the Cougars' bullpen to carry the game to extra innings before Andrew Stueve (2-2) pitched the 10th.
