FedEx truck catches fire in Bartlett

By

The Bartlett Fire Protection District extinguished a truck fire Friday on Route 59 north of West Bartlett Road

The fire occurred about 4 p.m., and the scene was cleared two hours later, said Lt. Richard Wilson, acting battalion chief.

No one was injured. The truck cab is a total loss, and the trailer sustained some damage. The damage to both is estimated at $130,000.

A mechanical malfunction caused the accidental fire, officials said.

The South Elgin and Countryside Fire Protection District assisted.
