Arenkill helps Wheaton North to victory

Kendra Arenkill had 5 kills, 2 aces and 4 digs and Wheaton North rallied past winless St. Charles East 20-25, 25-18, 25-18 on Tuesday in Wheaton. Sara Fiala added 11 assists, Erica Walker 12 digs, Ali Royer 6 kills, 6 digs and 2 aces, Amanda Mordacq 3 kills and 5 blocks and Grace Tiesman 3 kills, 2 aces and 5 blocks for Wheaton North (3-3).

WW South d. Downers Grove South:

Talia Holze had 6 kills and 2 blocks in the Tigers' 25-21, 25-22 season-opening win. Stephanie Budlong added 3 kills and 4 digs, Zoe Weber 3 kills and 2 blocks and Jessica Bossmann 13 assists.

Fenton d. Proviso West:

Nicole Susmarski had 5 kills and 4 aces, 2 of the aces coming in a key service run in the first set for the Bison (3-3) in a 25-21, 19-25, 25-9 nonconference win. Nicole Celarek added 8 kills and 4 aces and Hannah Wassmann 16 assists.

Providence d. Glenbard South:

Tarah Valdez and Jane Trzaska each had 7 kills, but the Raiders fell in New Lenox 27-25, 25-18. Colleen Cooney chipped in 10 digs, Nicole Schutte 5 aces and Sam Howard 15 assists for Glenbard South (3-3).

Montini d. Latin:

The Broncos (4-2) beat Latin 25-20, 25-14 behind 7 kills apiece from Natalie Lopez and Monica Loftus.

Glenbard West d. Glenbard East:

The No. 3 Hilltoppers (6-0) rolled 25-5, 25-11 in Lombard. Meghan Hanewall had 3 kills, Sam Bell 6 assists and Megan Cotterill 10 digs for the Rams (2-4).
