Man shot during St. Louis carjacking

ST. LOUIS — Two men are in jail for allegedly taking a car in a carjacking near the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and shooting one of the victims.

KSDK-TV reports that the crime happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. A couple was watching the river when a pickup truck stopped. Two men in the pickup told the couple to get out of the car.

One of the carjackers got in the car and drove away while the second man pulled a gun and shot the male victim in the hand and shoulder before leaving in the pickup. The victim is in stable condition.

The stolen car was seen about 90 minutes later in Brooklyn, Ill., and the suspected carjackers were arrested. Their names have not been released pending formal charges.
