Irwin Cohen, a 1972 U.S. Olympian and a longtime judo coach, died Monday. The Buffalo Grove man coached many, many students, including some future Olympians. "He made these kids what they are today," said Kim Golembo of Vernon Hills, whose son, Max, worked with Cohen from the age of 5.
