DuPage photographers look high and low for perfect shot

Each week’s DuPage County Neighbor section includes at least one entry in our Photo Finish contest.

Our photo staff picks some of their favorite submissions to run each week and then one overall monthly winner.

This week’s entries demonstrate that interesting photos may lurk almost anyplace you look.

Bob Pudell of Medinah, for example, was looking up from his perch in the John Hancock Observatory to capture a jet flying past a picture-perfect cloud during the Chicago Air & Water Show.

Mike Gross of Lombard, meanwhile, was looking across his backyard when he caught sight of an ambitious squirrel stashing away some walnuts.

If you’d like to try your hand at submitting a photo of your own for consideration, email it in .jpg format with at least 300 dpi resolution to ssanders@dailyherald.com.

Include your name, address and phone number, plus a description of where you took the photo and the occasion for it.

We’re happy to consider photos taken anywhere in the world, but we’re always partial to those that present a unique look at nearby people, places and things: pictures that make us wonder, “Why didn’t I think of that?”

The monthly winner will receive a $50 gift certificate, good at PJ’s Camera, Pickwick Place Plaza, 662 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn.
