4 killed, 12 wounded in separate Chicago shootings

CHICAGO — Four people are dead and at least a dozen wounded following shootings that started Friday afternoon in Chicago.

Police say a gunman firing from a mountain bike killed a 17-year-old boy and injured a woman on the city's South Side. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the teen as Lucian Dreux.

Police say he was shot in the face and abdomen while standing on a street near the woman who was wounded. She was hit in the thigh.

The Chicago Tribune reports the other shooting victims are 30-year-old Noah Cruz, 34-year-old Phillip McCall and a man in his 20s.

Chicago has seen a rise in homicides this month.

Nineteen people were shot late Thursday and early Friday. Thirteen of them were shot over a 30-minute period.
