Man gets life in prison for assaulting Carpentersville boys

A Chicago man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting two young boys at their Carpentersville home from 2004 through 2007.

Tynell D. Dixon, 32, was convicted on eight counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on May 17 and was sentenced Thursday.

The children told their father about the assaults in June 2007.

Both children, now 11, testified during the trial.

“These victims must be commended for their courage in stepping forward to report this crime, and in believing in the justice system,” said Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon in a news release.

Illinois law requires a person convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault with two or more victims to be sentenced to life in prison.
