Can’t fire citizens of this country

Can’t fire citizens of this country

In response to the “Obama clueless on building businesses” letter from July 31, I’m not impressed with the fact that Willard ran a business. You cannot govern a country the way you run a business.

1. You can fire people from a business. You can’t fire citizens of a country.

2. Willard ran those companies into the ground by saddling them with debt, raiding the employees’ pension plan, and selling off the company’s assets.

Now let me lay some figures on you. Reality: Willard “saved” the Salt Lake City Olympics with government money. So, it’s OK to use government money to save the Olympics, but not the U.S. auto industry. And for the self-made individuals in the “Ayn Rand” commercials: Sollman Electricity has received $3.9 million in government contracts; PRL Industries has received $160,000 in government contracts; and Gilchrist has received $800,000 in tax exempt bonds.

And in conclusion, I’ll quote John Donne, “For I am involved in mankind; Therefore, send not to know; for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.”
