Naperville dog walker accused of stealing from clients

A Naperville woman has been charged with stealing more than $13,000 from clients while working as a dog walker.

Catherine A. Lippencott, 40, worked with a temporary agency as a dog walker when she allegedly stole $12,780 from one client since December of 2008, Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Lippencott was given a key to the victim’s home to walk her dog, but began forging documents and taking money from the woman’s bank account, Bell said.

On Jan. 15, a withdrawal was made that caused the account to be overdrawn, Bell said. The victim contacted police the next day, Bell said.

An investigation revealed the woman also stole about $130 from two other clients, Bell said.

Lippencott has been charged with unauthorized control of over $10,000 after stealing money from three client. She was taken into custody Aug. 7 on a $50,000 warrant, Bell said.

Lippencott is due in court on Sept. 10, Bell said.
