Start outcry against assault weapons
For those of us who felt helpless after the shooting rampage in the movie theater in Aurora, Colo., there is now something we can do. Our governor, Patrick Quinn, has launched a bid to ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. He needs a lot of support because there will be a lot of resistance. If we who agree with the governor all take the time to make our support felt, to write the governor and our legislators and talk to our friends about the need to get rid of these means of destruction, there is hope that we can make our state safer for everyone.
