Thanks for work on historical project

On behalf of the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society, I wish to say a public “thank you” to Mike Foley and Roch Tranel for the truly beautiful new exterior of the Cook House in Libertyville.

If you haven’t seen the new paint yet, you are in for a treat; Libertyville’s Crown Jewel has never looked better.

Many local civic organizations and local citizens donated to fund the project; we thank them too.

There is still the opportunity for more of the public to be a partner in this project as the funds received have not yet met the goal of $24,000. Find information at www.PaintTheTownFoundation.com.

Also, tours of the Cook House interior will complete the summer season on Aug. 19 and 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. See what Mrs. Cook’s kitchen looked like and Mr. Cook’s second-floor office complete with a portrait of Samuel Insull. Come out and enjoy our treasured home inside and out.
