Bell said a homeowner on the 3500 block of Scottsdale Circle was home about 12:30 p.m. Friday when Espinosa and a 16-year-old male tried to break into his home.

"The homeowner surprised them and chased them before catching and briefly detaining them," Bell said. "But they got away from him and he called 911."

Aurora police found the 16-year-old less than a half-hour later. Espinosa was caught at 1:50 p.m. near Bar Harbor Court, also by Aurora police officers.

Bell said the two suspects also were believed to have been involved in an earlier Scottsdale Circle burglary during which they targeted electronics.
