The Wizard World Chicago Comic Con started yesterday at the Donald E. Stephens Center in Rosemont.

My colleague Russell Lissau is there, but he's not covering the event. You see, by day he's a reporter in our Lake County office. By night, he's a comic book writer, "specializing in capes and cowls."

His favorite superhero, as you might guess, is Batman.

"It's why getting the chance to write Batman stories for DC Comics was such a thrill," he told me.

Who is your favorite comic book hero? Are you partial to the DC stars (such as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman), or do you prefer the Marvel heroes (such as Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man)?

What about the villains? Lissau's favorite is Poison Ivy, one of Batman's nemeses.

"She's one of the more complex characters in comics," he said.
