Paddle on Sterling Lake in forest preserve event

You can take a nighttime paddleboat ride on Van Patten Woods' Sterling Lake in a special program being offered Aug. 29 by the Lake County Forest Preserve District. The Twilight Paddle activity will run from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. at the preserve near Wadsworth. It's open to anyone 12 or older. Participants must have paddling experience. Admission is $23 for Lake County residents or $32 for anyone else. To register, visit or call (847) 968-3321.
