Health care law is badly needed

Thank goodness that as of now, the Supreme Court has upheld the basic tenets of the Affordable Care Act — please don’t be so demeaning as to call it Obamacare. As a two-time cancer survivor it is so important to me. My insurance at work is fantastic and covers so much that I have been able to heal without money as another worry.

If I were to lose my job, however, my cancer would be considered a pre-existing condition and the ongoing care and treatment I receive would probably have to come out of pocket — and my pockets are not that deep. People don’t ask to get sick, but it does happen, and I believe this act is a step in the right direction.
