Eating out: 7-year-old's shake recipe makes Tom and Eddie's menu

Who wants S'more?

Family-friendly burger joint Tom and Eddie's recently added a new milkshake flavor — “I Want S'more,” a recipe courtesy of 7-year-old Jordyn Dane. Dane, of Deerfield, won a recent contest with her mashup of vanilla ice cream, crushed graham crackers, syrup and marshmallows. The shake costs $3.99.

Niche tops diners' choice

More than a million diners have spoken: Niche in Geneva is among the best of the best in the Western Suburbs. The fine dining restaurant took top 10 honors in a variety of categories including best overall, best ambience, best service and notable wine list as determined by users of opentable.com, an online reservation service.

Agio's summer flavors

Savor the flavors of summer just a bit longer with Agio's new seasonal menu items. Enjoy Vongole al Forno, clams on the half-shell baked with garlic and bread crumbs, or two new veal options: lightly battered Vitello al Francese served with a lemon butter sauce and Filleto di Manzo, a 10-ounce veal loin topped with wild mushroom cognac cream sauce. Or try Salmon Alla Griglia, an 8-ounce filet of North Atlantic Salmon served over cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and a crème fraîche sauce.
