Aurora Public Library seeks memories of bookmobile

Submitted by Aurora Public Library

The Aurora Public Library invites patrons to submit their memories and photographs of the bookmobile for a photo album to be published later this year. The album, to be called “Bookmobile Memories,” will include photographs of the many bookmobiles employed by the library over the years along with patrons’ recollections and facts about the library’s “traveling branch.”

Memories might include an event, a book, a person or an experience with the bookmobile.

Patrons who submit a memory will be included in a drawing for a prize package, which includes a pair of tickets to Classic Cinemas, a book bag, a beach towel and more.

Patrons may also submit photos taken on or with the Bookmobile.

The bookmobile makes more than 8,000 visits annually citywide, bringing books and other library resources to schoolchildren and residents. The Aurora Public Library has fielded a bookmobile since 1953.

Submission forms may be picked up at any Aurora Public Library location. Memories and photos also may be submitted via email to afroth@aurora.lib.il.us.

Deadline for submissions is July 31.
