Dold budget stance shows independence

Robert Dold is one of a few independent leaders in Congress. While the Senate has been unable to produce a budget, Robert Dold used his independent leadership to support the Simpson-Bowles plan, an “everything on the table” approach to putting a budget together for the American people.

By using this approach, Dold and other members of Congress were able to work together to create a bipartisan budget. Dold broke with his party to support the Simpson-Bowles plan from the bipartisan deficit reduction panel.

Dold should be commended for breaking ranks with many in his party and supporting the bipartisan budget. We need more Bob Dolds in Congress and I urge my fellow 10th District residents to send him back to Washington.
