About this Article

Determined to raise the money she needed for her son to attend an exclusive, invite-only football camp in Virginia, a Round Lake Beach mom used small fundraisers, like collection jars and a car wash, to raise nearly $2,500 in three weeks. Thanks to Tina Nicholas-Williams' tenacity and the community's generosity, her son, Kyle, a 6-foot, 232-pound, incoming Round Lake High School freshman, reported to camp Monday.
