2 officers injured in W. Ind. shooting standoff

ROSEDALE, Ind. — Indiana State Police say a state trooper and a deputy town marshal were slightly injured when a man fired shots at officers responding to a domestic battery call in western Indiana.

The trooper and the Rosedale deputy town marshal both suffered minor arm injuries Sunday believed caused by glass or shrapnel when gunfire originating from a Rosedale home hit the trooper’s car.

Police say 19-year-old Zachary T. Buza left the home and was arrested three hours after the shooting. He’s being held at the Parke County Jail on initial charges of felony attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and battery.

Police say a 17-year-old girl and her 42-year-old father were allegedly injured by Buza on Sunday, leading to domestic battery and medical emergency calls about the residence.
