Cook County lauded for budget document

Cook County’s Department of Budget and Management Services has been recognized for meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has given Cook County its annual Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, which tracks achievements in several nationally recognized guidelines, all of which gauge the budget’s ability to serve as a policy document, financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. Also, Director Andrea Gibson has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation by the GFOA. “This award represents a significant achievement,” said GFOA Director Stephen J. Gauthier.
