AFP calls for pension reform

The Illinois chapter of Americans for Prosperity will host a town hall meeting in Arlington Heights Thursday, calling on the General Assembly to suspend their summer vacation and pass meaningful pension reform. This is the second of a dozen townhall meetings planned for throughout Illinois. “There is no more pressing fiscal issue for Illinois’ leaders than reforming the state’s grossly underfunded pension system,” said AFP Illinois State Director David From. The meeting is 7-8:30 p.m. in the Arlington Heights Village Hall, Buechner Room, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. State Sen. Matt Murphy and the Illinois Policy Institute are expected to be there.
