Naperville trail a real success story

Naperville trail a real success story

Thank you for your recent articles about bicycle safety and trails. I see many happy users on the multiuse trails of DuPage County.

On July 17 at 1:30 p.m., another completed link will be celebrated at Wil-O-Way Commons Park, 1071 W. Jefferson in Naperville. Everyone is invited. In the works since 1992, this .9-mile stretch was made possible through intergovernmental cooperation between the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, the Naperville Park District and the City of Naperville. It was a complicated process.

The trail along the West Branch of the DuPage River takes users safely under the BNSF railway trestle and Ogden Avenue. The trail joins the existing trail to the north at McDowell Forest Preserve and the marked on-street trail to the south through downtown Naperville.

It is truly something to celebrate. My hat goes off to the elected officials, staffs and corporate leaders who made this link to health, community and beauty a reality.
