Winners named in Libertyville Sports Complex putting contest

Libertyville resident Jane Aten won first place in the first Libertyville Sports Complex Women’s Putting Contest, sponsored by Sunset Foods, held recently at the Libertyville Golf Course.

More than 60 ladies entered the competition, with 10 finalists qualifying to compete for the championship.

Aten won $50 in gift cards from Sunset Foods for her championship victory, edging out nine other finalists.

Joyce Geib of Libertyville (second place), Barb Plohr of Libertyville (third place), Carol Bubala of Lake Forest (fourth place), and Julie Ackley of Libertyville (fifth place) all received Sunset Foods gift cards.

Other finalists, also receiving Sunset Foods gift cards, included Libertyville residents Mary Toll, Louise Mason and Sharon Perry, along with Loretta Lenzini of Vernon Hills and Lee Jashelski of Deerfield.

The Libertyville Golf Course is at Golf Road and Country Club Drive on the southeast side of Libertyville, while the driving range at the Libertyville Sports Complex is at the corner of Peterson Road and Route 45, on the northwest side of Libertyville.

Sunset Foods, sponsor of the Women’s Putting Contest, is celebrating 75 years of operation and has locations in Libertyville, Long Grove, Lake Forest, Northbrook and Highland Park.
