A tax plan all can get behind

Being a conservative Republican, I would never have thought that I would suggest a new tax. However I have a recommendation to, help solve the federal and state budget deficits.

This suggestion should even get the approval of the Democrats that support taxing the rich. I suggest there should be an annual federal flat tax placed on the gross amount of all donations made to any political party, all campaign funds individual or group. No deductions or exclusions. Tax must be paid at time of donation. The federal tax should be 15 percent of the gross amount, to be paid by the recipient. In addition, a 5 percent tax to be paid by the donor. Any transfers from one fund to another would need to pay the tax a second time. Tax reporting and payment forms to control would be required.

In addition, a state tax of 5 percent to be paid by the recepiant and 2.5 percent to be paid by the donor. All taxes collected to be designated exclusive to be paid to the reduction of debt.

No funds should be excluded and no amounts regardless of size should be excluded. Donations should include all: monetary. cars, event tickets, transportation, tours, junket trips, meals.

Maybe even a second tax that every fundraising event needs a permit and fee. Say $1,000 for each event paid in advance.

This directs the politicos to “put their money where their mouth is.” They want to constantly increase taxes on the citizens for their expenditures and expenses. How about their sharing government operating costs out of their tax free funds and income?
