Applications are being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Vernon Hills planning and zoning commission. Interested persons should send a letter of interest and a cover letter to Michael S. Allison, village manager, 290 Evergreen Drive, Vernon Hills, 60061. The committee meets on Wednesday evenings as necessary at 7:30 p.m. at the village hall. It is comprised of seven members and serves as an advisory body to the village board. Duties include reviewing development projects for compliance to various zoning ordinance regulations and comprehensive plan, review of site and landscaping plans for new development, amendments to the village's zoning ordinance and comprehensive plan and special land use related studies as needed.
