GLCU has a partnership with Lake County Forest Preserve District as sponsor for three family-oriented events during 2012. Kids Nature Funfest is part of the "Leave No Child Inside" initiative dedicated to improving children's physical, social and emotional well-being through outdoor play and exploration. The event taught kids about nature and allowed them to participate in a variety of outdoor activities and contests. Kids were also able to meet Kirby the Kangaroo, GLCU's mascot, and have a spin at the GLCU prize wheel.
