Taste of Lombard benefits community causes

Taste of Lombard's Friday night headliners will help raise funds for the family of 5-year-old Tim Grobart of Lombard, who received a heart transplant June 20. A guitar autographed by George Lynch of the band Lynch Mob will be auctioned, and family and friends of the Grobarts will be selling split-the-pot raffle tickets.

Taste of Lombard visitors know to expect variety from the five-day fest, now in its 30th year. But what many taste attendees don't know is the extent of the event's charitable impact, organizers say. "That's what a lot of people don't realize about the Taste of Lombard," said Jackie West, president of the Lombard Jaycees, which runs the event.
