Poll Vault: Which suburban park district has the best pool?

By Michelle Holdway

With temperatures around the century mark this week, doesn't a dip in the pool sound refreshing?

My nephew Sam is partial to the lazy river at Rainbow Falls Water Park in Elk Grove Village. I live close to Atcher Island Water Park in Schaumburg but haven't been there. It looks cool, though.

Where do you go to swim? Which park districts have the best facilities? Do you prefer slides or sand, like at Centennial Beach in Naperville or Quarry Beach in Batavia?

Will a simple lap pool do, or are you drawn to the bells and whistles of a water park?
