Wife refuses to answer questions about Rep. Jackson’s leave
Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson isn’t answering any questions about the medical leave of absence that her husband, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., has taken.
Sandi Jackson was barraged by questions about her husband at the Chicago City Council meeting on Wednesday. She declined to answer the media inquiries but she said she loves her husband and her primary concern is taking care of their children.
On Monday, Congressman Jackson’s office disclosed that he’s been on leave due to exhaustion since June 10 and asked that his family’s privacy be respected. A spokesman said it isn’t clear how long Jackson would be out.
Jackson first won office in 1995 and represents Illinois’ 2nd District. He defeated a primary challenge this year despite being the target of a House ethics investigation.
