Two injured in Arlington Heights crash

Two drivers were hurt in a two-car collision Saturday afternoon in Arlington Heights, police said.

The accident occurred around 3:10 p.m., just north of the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Golf Road, said Arlington Heights Police Sgt. Tom Boggs.

Latrece Edwards, 41, of Hampton, Va., was pulling out of a private driveway in an Acura 3.2 TL to head north on Arlington Heights Road when the crash occurred.

As she was making the left turn, Edwards was hit in the middle southbound lane by a Hyundai Sonata driven by Martha Royek, 56, of Arlington Heights. Edwards was issued a citation for failure to yield when exiting a private driveway, Boggs said.

Both drivers suffered “non-incapacitating” injuries and were transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Boggs said. Their exact condition was not available.

No passengers were in either car when the accident occurred.
