Frice named to national soccer board

Mundelein resident Wells Frice has been elected to the 11-member national board of directors of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). Frice is senior portfolio manager/equity analyst with Great Lakes Advisors LLC of Chicago and has served for more than 17 years on the Mundelein Elementary District 75 school board, the last 10 as president. The election for a 1-year term was May 27 at the AYSO’s national annual meeting in Seattle. Frice has served as a volunteer with AYSO for many years, including as a soccer coach, referee and local administrator. Since 2007, he had served as volunteer section director for the upper Midwest. His wife, Theresa, served on the AYSO National Board from 1999 to 2004, making the couple possibly the first husband and wife to have so served. The national nonprofit group is based in Torrance, Calif. and is the largest single-entity youth soccer organization in the U.S.
