On the Market: Semi-custom home in Palatine
Move into a new single-family home in Palatine as soon as September. KF Walter Homes is building this brick and frame home with a three-car garage on W. Dorchester Avenue in that popular Northwest suburb and it is expected to be ready for its family this fall.
Once complete, the home will feature a gourmet island kitchen with stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, granite countertops, a walk-in pantry, eating area and butler’s pantry. The family room will also feature hardwood floors but the dining room and den will be carpeted and the first-floor laundry room will feature ceramic tile flooring.
Since the new preference among buyers is for a less formal floor plan, this home will not feature a living room, instead devoting the extra space to a larger family room, with its gas log fireplace, and to a den. The entire first floor will feature 9-foot ceilings.
The home’s four carpeted bedrooms will all be located on the second floor, along with two full baths. The deep pour basement will be left unfinished.
