Arlington Matron and Classic headline Saturday’s races at Arlington Park

The Grade III Arlington Matron and the $125,000 Arlington Classic headline Saturday’s action at the Arlington Park racetrack.

The Matron, a $150,000 race on the Polytrack, will welcome back the winner of the 2010 Grade III Arlington Oaks on the same course, Upperline. The 5-year-old favorite in the seven-horse field hails from Stone Farm, John Adger, Oak Crest Farm and Mike Stidham.

Grade II American Turf winner Silver Max tops the field of 10 entered in the Arlington Classic, a mile and a sixteenth turf race that serves as the first leg Arlington’s Mid-America Triple. The Dale Romans’ trainee for Mark Bacon and Diane Wells is perfect in four races this year.

The races are part of the weekend-long opening to the Miller Lite Party in the Park Remix Series, which will feature a live D.J. taking requests throughout the evening. After Memorial Day Weekend, the series will run each Friday for the 2012 season.
