Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 school board hired Jake Chung as principal of South Middle School Thursday, replacing Jeannie Sung, who is moving to China with her family.
Chung has been principal of Hoover Math and Science Academy in Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 for the last four years. He has received numerous awards, including the Larry Stilgebauer Award of Excellence and Those Who Excel Award.
Chung has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from National-Louis University. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois-Champaign in education and organizational leadership.
