Wisconsin real estate market continues to rebound
MILWAUKEE — The real estate market in Wisconsin continues to rebound.
Figures from the Wisconsin Realtors Association show sales of existing homes rose 19½ percent in April, the 10th consecutive month of double-digit sales growth in the state. The median sales prices rose slightly, up 2.4 percent.
Association president Michael Theo tells the Journal Sentinel the state may have finally “turned the corner on sales.”
But, prices are another thing. Plenty of homes are still on the market in Wisconsin, including foreclosure properties. For the first four months of the year, prices are down about 1 percent.
There were 5,218 homes sold in April, compared with 4,365 in April last year. The median price rose 2.4 percent statewide to $128,000 from $125,000 a year ago.
