Pitching matchups: The Sox' Gavin Floyd (2-3) vs. Felipe Paulino (1-0) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; Eric Stults (0-0) vs. Luke Hochevar (2-3) Saturday at 6:10 p.m.; Philip Humber (1-2) vs. Danny Duffy (2-2) Sunday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance: This is the first meeting of the season between the White Sox and Royals. The Sox were 7-11 vs. Kansas City last year, their first season series loss to the Royals since 2000. Stults and Humber could switch days in the rotation. K.C. is 12th in the American League with a 4.89 ERA. Paul Konerko has 135 career RBI vs. the Royals. Alejandro De Aza was 10-for-27 on the White Sox' seven-game road trip, raising his average to .285 from .260. Kansas City still is trying to recover from a 12-game losing streak in April.
