Westbound I-90 reopened after three-hour crash cleanup

All westbound lanes of the Jane Addams Tollway are reopened after being closed for nearly three hours this morning morning following large crash involving a semitrailer truck, overturned dump truck and passenger vehicle.

The crash occurred about 9:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-90, just past the I-190 interchange for O’Hare International Airport near Rosemont.

Illinois State Police said the lanes reopened about 12:40 p.m., but traffic still was reported to be moving slow early Thursday afternoon.

Officials have not determined what caused the collision, but said the overturned dump truck spilled dirt across all lanes.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge with nonlife threatening injuries, according to police.
