Passenger airlifted to Good Samaritan, police say

Two young women were injured in a one-car crash Friday morning at Route 25 and Dodson Street in Geneva, according to police.

The driver was taken to Provena Mercy Center in Aurora. The passenger was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Geneva police say a small Chevrolet convertible was traveling west on Dodson Street when it crossed Route 25 and hit a grove of large trees.

Names of those involved have not been released. Both are in the early 20s, police said.

Traffic on State Street was closed so a medical evacuation helicopter could land on the State Street bridge.
