Duckworth, Walsh to debate Friday

Eighth Congressional District contenders Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat from Hoffman Estates and former Obama administration official, and Republican Congressman Joe Walsh, a Tea Partyer from McHenry, plan their first debate at 6 p.m. Friday, May 11, on CLTV.

The 8th District race is expected to be one of the hottest races leading up to the Nov. 6 election. It is at the very top of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s list of 25 “key races” it hopes will help Democrats take back the House majority.

Friday’s debate will also be available on WGNTV.com and on CLTV.com.

People can suggest questions for the candidates in advance via Twitter @politicstonight or Facebook at facebook.com/politicstonight.

The roundtable debate will be part of a “Politics Tonight” special, hosted by Paul Lisnek.
