Sox set special tickets for Humber's return

While the White Sox have struggled to draw fans this season at home, team officials have come up with a special rate to entice fans to Philip Humber's start on Thursday.

In recognition of Humber's perfect game Saturday in Seattle, the White Sox are selling specially priced tickets for the team's first game back at U.S. Cellular Field on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. Humber is scheduled to pitch in the game, which starts at 7:10 p.m.

Fans can purchase tickets for $9 (number of perfect innings) or $27 (number of batters retired) for the game on Thursday — with all Upper Reserved tickets priced at $9 and all Lower Box, Lower Reserved and Bleacher tickets at $27, based on availability.

The White Sox also will provide all fans in attendance on Thursday night with a commemorative Philip Humber perfect game poster, featuring photos of Humber during the game and after the final out, and an image of the official team score card. Select Philip Humber merchandise is available at The Chicago Sports Depot, located at the ballpark.

Tickets for Thursday's game are available now at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and at all Ticketmaster locations.

Humber is also scheduled to appear Monday on “Late Night with David Letterman” and help with the nightly Top Ten segment, as Scot Gregor reports in his blog. Scot's blog also includes a link to Humber's interview today on WSCR 670-AM with Dan McNeil and Matt Spiegel.
