Authorities are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Lemont-area man who apparently was electrocuted Friday while trimming a tree.

The man was on a ladder trimming a tree at his residence when the ladder made contact with a high-voltage overhead wire, authorities said.

He was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook where he was pronounced dead at 12:01 p.m. Friday, according to the Will County Coroner’s office.

An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, but results were not available as of early afternoon.

The man’s name was not being released pending notification of family.
