Cook Library District Invites Recipe Submissions for Community-Wide Cookbook

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your ovens! The Cook Memorial Public Library District has launched a community-wide call for recipe submissions for their upcoming cookbook; "A Library of Recipes: Cook Park and Aspen Drive Cooking Together". “What better way to bring a community together than through the unifying power of food,” said Cookbook Committee member and Library Board president Bonnie Quirke. “Everyone has a favorite family food and by sharing these recipes, we hope to create a cookbook that will be passed down from generation to generation.”

To share your favorite recipes for possible inclusion in "A Library of Recipes", please submit a maximum of 2-3 recipes per household at the Circulation Desk at Aspen Drive Library, 701 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, the Information Desk at Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, or on the bookmobile by May 15, 2012. Recipe submission forms and instructions can be found on the library's website at www.cooklib.org or at either library location.

A Library of Recipes will give all cooks in the community an opportunity to share their favorite cherished family recipes and be part of a project they can be proud of. (Credit will be given for each recipe included.) The cookbooks will be professionally published by Morris Press Cookbooks and are available to pre-order for $12.00. After November 1, 2012, the price will be $15.00. For more information, please call the library at (847) 362-2330.
