9th GOP candidate’s website hacked

Voters who wanted to know more about the Republican vying to unseat incumbent U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky in the 9th Congressional District this November were in for a surprise when visiting his campaign website recently.

Arlington Heights Republican Timothy Wolfe said his official site has been hacked a few times and was redirecting visitors to a porn website.

The glitch was discovered a few weeks ago by a supporter who notified Wolfe via email, he said.

“It’s happened a couple of times,” said Wolfe, who filed a police report this week,

Luckily, visitors with firewalls set up for their Internet service couldn’t access Wolfe’s site at all.

Wolfe’s website, www.timwolfeforcongress.com, is up and running again, and with any luck, there won’t be any more rude surprises for voters.

The newly drawn 9th District includes the towns of Wheeling, Prospect Heights, Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, Park Ridge and Rolling Meadows.
