DuPage District 6 incumbents victorious

Two DuPage County Board incumbents cruised to victory in earning the Republican Party’s nomination to District 6 seats, while an Iraq War veteran captured the third spot.

With all 110 precincts reporting, unofficial results show Robert Larsen with 10,033 votes and fellow board member James Zay with 8,651 votes in the GOP primary. Challenger Kevin Wiley, an Army lieutenant colonel from West Chicago, secured the third nomination with 5,784 votes.

Two other Republican candidates sought the GOP nomination for three District 6 seats. Tom Sutton and David Sabathne received 4,817 and 4,648 votes, respectively.

Larsen, Zay and Wiley will face the three Democratic nominees in the general election.

District 6 includes all or parts of Aurora, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Naperville, Roselle, St. Charles, Warrenville, Wayne, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.
